CICPD Microcredential Programme - Sustainability & ESG
In line with global calls for more climate actions, organisations across various sectors are now facing mounting pressure to transparently manage and report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Whether driven by compliance requirements, stakeholder demands, or voluntary climate commitments, effective GHG accounting and reporting has become a cornerstone of contemporary sustainability strategies.
This masterclass will equip participants with practical knowledge and skills to develop and manage GHG emission inventories, covering direct emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) as well as indirect emissions (Scope 3) across the value chain. The masterclass integrates international standards, compliance and voluntary reporting frameworks, along with approaches for collecting, reporting, and verifying data, and uncertainty analysis.
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the 15 categories of GHG Scope 3 emissions, learn methods for setting reporting boundaries and appropriate carbon reduction targets, and explore the implications of the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and global trends in carbon pricing. With this knowledge, participants will be able to make science-based decisions, set carbon emission reduction targets, enhance operational performance, and strengthen transparency in climate-related reporting.
This course is suitable for professionals involved in corporate sustainability, ESG reporting, compliance, supply chain management, and environmental strategy development in both public and private sectors.
